Citizen Science

Citizen Science

Information coming soon!

What is Citizen Science? Citizen Science, also known as Community Science, gives everyday people the skills and ability to contribute to scientific research. By engaging in scientific activities such as monitoring and analysis of data, participants help progress our understanding of the natural world.

Through citizen science, all people can participate in many stages of the scientific process, from the design of the research question, to data collection and volunteer mapping, data interpretation and analysis, and to publication and dissemination of results. Citizen science is also an approach of scientific work that may be used as a part of a broader scientific activity.

We are working with the IW Biosphere Festival and other Island partners to promote Citizen Science and related volunteering activities.
