Would you like to be part of something exciting in Sandown?
Sandown is bidding to become UK Town of Culture 2028, and volunteering will be at the heart of the plans. Tide Turners will be the people who help bring the programme to life – welcoming visitors, supporting events and activities, spreading the word, connecting people and helping make things happen across the town and Bay.
There could be all sorts of ways to get involved, from giving a few hours at an event to becoming an ambassador, community connector or helping to develop activities of your own. You won’t need previous volunteering experience – just enthusiasm and an interest in being part of Sandown’s story.
You do not have to live in Sandown, or even on the Isle of Wight, to register your interest. We would love to hear from residents, former residents, regular visitors and anyone with a connection to or enthusiasm for the town.
At this stage we are building a list of people who might like to become Tide Turners if the bid is successful. Registering your interest does not commit you to anything – it simply means we can keep you informed as the plans develop.
