Walking Companion & Guide

Our Striders group meet on a monthly basis (last Friday of the month) and enjoy a stride of around 5 miles across the beautiful Isle of Wight.

We are looking for Volunteers to assist with our members guiding them across unfamiliar terrain but also enjoying their surroundings. The group often finish with an enjoyable pub lunch in a local establishment.

Skills

  • Fit and able to walk at least 5 miles, be able to guide and assist members ( in house training will be provided) 
  • Understanding of members needs and being able to communicate with them.
  • Guide dogs will be in the group so a love of dogs would be good.
