Volunteer work buddies - Concrete products

Care in the Garden is a CIC - a not for profit organisation based at Palmers Brook Community Nursery, Wootton. We offer a variety of supported work-based opportunities, primarily to people with learning disabilities, mental health issues and early-onset dementia. .

We are looking to begin manufacturing concrete garden products and are looking for people with knowledge of this type of work to help us set up this aspect of the business and train our client group.

We believe it is a human right that everyone should be offered the opportunity to have a full and meaningful life. Some people need extra help and support to achieve this, which is where our work-buddy scheme comes in. Work buddies can support and encourage individuals to learn new skills, be part of a team, and reach their full potential.”

Giving just four hours a week to this innovative, friendly community venture would make a real difference to the people Care In The Garden supports and our volunteers find it very rewarding experience too.

Skills

We are looking for friendly, approachable, patient people with good senses of humour who have a skill or a passion to share with others!

Ideally you would be over 18 and a DBS check would be required.

A good knowledge of producing concrete products would be helpful.

If you feel that you can work with our supported workers to help them work safely and develop new skills, then this may be the volunteering role for you.
