Do you enjoy listening and chatting to others?
Would you like to be part of our Befriending team offering support to people and families living with cancer at our local Cancer Support Centre?
Volunteer Befrienders are special people who offer practical and emotional support to adults, teenagers and children at all stages of their cancer journey.
They listen without judging and are able to maintain client confidentiality.
Our Cancer Support Centres offer a safe and supportive place where people living with cancer can access local non-clinical support including; counselling, complementary therapy, advice, information and support from trained Befrienders.
People visiting the Centre will either have direct experience of cancer, be bereaved, or have someone close to them who has cancer.
All volunteers receive training in listening and responding skills and receive ongoing support and supervision.
You can volunteer for one morning or afternoon a week, or give more time if you’re able to.
