As the largest voluntary youth organisation on the Isle of Wight with around 1,000 young people and 400 adult leaders and supporters and a registered charity with a financial turnover of in excess of £100,000 our Minutes Secretary helps ensure that we maintain good governance.
The operation of Isle of Wight Scouts is overseen by a County Executive with a mixture of uniformed and non-uniformed adults and a handful of young people. We meet every other month (i.e., six times a year for two hours) and we hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The Minutes Secretary takes a record of the key points of discussion at these meetings, the actions taken or required, and decisions taken.
The Minutes Secretary is also responsible for maintaining the log of actions completed and outstanding.
