Land maintenance and gardening at Bodster CIC

We run a Volunteering Session on a Friday afternoon from 2pm until 3pm ( 1 hr) for people to come and do some volunteering and also learn and develop their land based skills – looking after the land at Bodster CIC.

Tasks vary but include thinsg such as:

  • pulling ragwort
  • moving fencing 
  • collecting field droppings

You will also have time to spend in our calm space being in nature and watching the ponies at Bodster CIC.

We are at present completing jobs such as :

  • moving wood to re-build our Field shelter
  • sorting land to create more grazing for our herd
  • developing our Sensory spaces.


  • Ability to learn new skills and/or have gardening skills
  • Ability to carry out physical work
  • Ability to walk distances as we are 8 acres
  • Willingness to complete tasks such as ragwort pulling - we will teach you skills needed if required.
  • Willingness to be in a small group of people who may lack self confidence
