IW Pride - Community Village Manager

The annual Isle of Wight Pride event is the pinnacle of our year, and we need a great many volunteers to ensure that the event runs smoothly and safely.

Isle of Wight Pride 2025 will be held on Saturday 19th July in Eastern Gardens and on Harbour Beach in Ryde.

The role of Community Village Manager involves organizing bookings and paperwork for the Community Village prior to Pride Weekend as well as being present for most of the day at the event. You will be needed first thing in the morning on the day, to see in stall holders and answer any questions from traders. You will need to be present in the Community Village throughout the day to assist with any issues and direct traders when the village closes.

This role is administrative as well as being somewhat physical.

You may have to assist some traders to set up and pack down and you will be on your feet for most of the day.

Person Specification:

• Confident communicating with potential stall holders and sending them relevant paperwork via Outlook email Able to use Microsoft Word or equivalent
• Well organised and able to work to a deadline
• Have a friendly, welcoming and approachable manner
• Smiley, chatty and helpful towards members of the public
• Confident talking about the work of IW Pride
• Can work effectively as part of a team
• Happy working independently or under direction
• Don’t mind being out in all weather!

We’d love to say the sun always shines on our parade but there is no guarantee! The Community Village Manager is supported in their role by the trustees and volunteer manager, if you choose to join us in this volunteer position full training will be provided.
