The role of the Museum Front of House volunteer is to ensure that the visitor experience is enhanced. You will be expected to deliver a memorable level of customer service proactively engaging with all visitors ensuring that they feel welcome and valued and have an enjoyable experience within the museum and subsequently in the coffee shop.
What we hope you will bring to Brading Roman Villa:
• a friendly, courteous and welcoming manner to all visitors, directing them around the site and answering any questions they may have.
• a professional approach and demeanour when dealing with difficult visitors or situations.
• ability to issue tickets for the Museum/temporary exhibitions ensuring accurate use of the EPOS system and card machines.
• some experience of working in a shop, actively up-selling products, restocking shelves and cleaning/dusting the general area.
• excellent telephone manner, answering calls and, where appropriate, taking and passing on messages to the relevant member of staff.
• ability to promote the Gift Aid Scheme to visitors and recording these
. • some experience of end of day cashing up.

Support:
You will be invited to formally meet with the Front of House Manager once a
year, to give you the opportunity to provide comments and feedback on your
role. This will ensure that we are up to date with our volunteer working
practices and provide you and other volunteers an enjoyable and fulfilling role
with us. However, should you, at any time, feel the need to discuss any aspect
of your role, the Front of House Manager or Volunteers Coordinator will be
only too pleased to meet with you
