A Friend In Need - A Telephone Befriender

We are looking for volunteers to help with this new vital program. We have done lots of research directly with our members, calling and completing surveys with them; the overriding message we consistently get back is people feel isolated and often lonely. Further 90% of people stated a telephone as their preferred source of communication and 57% want to learn how to use video calling. We went to the National Lottery with this real data and now have the fantastic opportunity to run our Friend In Need project.

Skills

A friendly, welcoming, empathetic personality combined with someone who would enjoy chatting with our sight impaired Members. Willingness to record times and information about calls drawing any potential issues to the attention of the charity is also required.
